Easy Food Combining For Better Health

Let’s look in to the American diet, & see what, if anything can be completed to fine-tune the path they are on. The path I speak of is seven that has led to sky rocketing obesity, chronic disease & an overall pattern of poor choices. Are these choices so ingrained in our psyches that they, as a society have gone far down the path to reverse direction? Fast food, super buffets, meat & potatoes, everywhere they turn these are the types of dining choices inundating us daily. They are initiated early by commercials, ads, billboards & free toys targeting the youngest & most easily influenced group of all.

So, how do they change these habits that have been ingrained so deeply? Infant steps… the journey to nice health through proper eating habits is seven that can be travelled by somebody who chooses to start it. Lots of who say they have tried & failed did so lots of times for seven reasons. First, they gave up! As the former college basketball coach Jim Valvano said in his now famous speech, “don’t give up… don’t ever give up.” If you have a bad day or week, so what it is seven day or week get back up the next morning & start again. The second reason lots of fail, is because they go all out from day seven. This takes me back to the infant steps, lots of small changes over time can & will make giant changes in your health & life. They will discuss combining foods properly & how to start the journey today.

Some things to recall as you start to eat better is what to eat with what & why. We have all heard somebody say, as they are gorging themselves “what difference does it make, it is all going to the same place anyway?” This may be true, however what happens or doesn’t happen seven time it gets there makes a massive difference. The human digestive process is brilliant. They have the ability to digest & use meats, vegetables & fruits, unlike other animals. Now, the deal with this is that our process immediately recognizes the type of food they are ingesting, & adjusts what it needs to do to digest it properly. What happens when they improperly mix these foods together? Confusion, I will report in a moment, but when our digestive process is confused it cannot do it is job . This can be compared to the workplace, when mixed directives are received from different sources, the outcome usually is not what was intended.

How does a our digestive process get confused? Believe it or not, they digest different foods in different ways. Starches are broken down by enzymes in our saliva, & proteins by the acids in our stomachs. So, when these are combined in the same meal the result is improperly or undigested food. Vegetables & other fiber filled foods pass through to the intestines where they are transformed in to a gelatinized substance by enzymes & bile.

So, to bring it in to a nice package here is an easy way to recall what to eat & when. Starches should be eaten alone, or with vegetables. Proteins eaten alone or with vegetables. Vegetables eaten alone, with starches or proteins. Fruit should be eaten alone to aide with their cleansing effects. Fluids, preferably water should be consumed 30 minutes prior to or after eating. Liquid intake should be limited while eating, proteins to permit the acids in the stomach to perform their duties without being diluted. Recall these simple principles when choosing foods, & you will soon feel and look better. More for related teeth health and natural teeth whitening at home now..

How Hormones Effect Your Health

August 24th, 2009

Hormones regulate how well you sleep, how often you eat, your sex drive, your energy level and the way you handle stress. And now you’re aware that hormones don’t just die once prom night is over. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we had a way to optimize all of these things?

It seems like there’s not much you can do about it, short of taking medication if there happens to be an imbalance. But hormones were functioning long before hospitals and modern medical equipment. And there are plenty of things we can do at home to make sure they stay that way.

High blood pressure causes many hormone related conditions. You’ll want to keep blood pressure around 115/75. One way to keep your blood pressure at an optimum level is physical activity. Exercise works to drop excess pounds that can elevate blood pressure. What’s more, exercise will increase your muscles’ sensitivity to glucose. This means, that instead of glucose staying in your body as fat it’s used as fuel. So you’ll stay slim and keep your blood pressure controlled, too.

Nutrition is as more about the benefits of certain foods than it is about the taste. What you eat contributes to how you feel in many ways. The same goes for your hormones. Certain foods can be eaten to correct hormones that have been thrown out of whack or maintain health levels.

Studies suggest that ginseng, tea and cinnamon help to fine tune the way insulin works in your body. Statistically shown to prevent type 2 diabetes, a spoonful of cinnamon or cup of tea can go a long way. Start by replacing one cup of coffee a day with a cup of green or black tea.

Broccoli and cauliflower contain estrogen-producing substances that can help protect women from breast cancer. Olive oils, fish oils, calcium and fruits all help keep your arteries healthy. Eating a diet high in lean protein, green vegetables, fruit and healthy fats will not only keep you looking good. It will also regulate your energy level, control blood pressure and reduce mood swings.

Avocados might seem exotic to some, but it is a food rich in healthy fat, as well as magnesium and potassium. Magnesium regulates metabolism and lowers blood pressure when necessary. And potassium helps nerve and muscle functioning. By keeping your systems working properly, magnesium and potassium help hormonal stability.

Staying informed about your health even when you’re not particularly under the weather is a smart and vital practice. Since hormonal processes and their imbalances occur subtly, they slip under medical radar until it’s a serious problem. Regularly monitoring hormonal activity by getting your blood pressure, blood sugar level and thyroid tested. You’ll be one step ahead in the event something starts to go wrong. Also, feel free to ask for these tests and also to suggest that hormones may be the cause of a recent illness. Doctors need all the information they can get to make an accurate diagnosis.

Hormones can help you or they can hurt you. And as you can see, you have more power to control the outcome that you may have previously thought. If you do suspect you are suffering from a hormonal imbalance, visit a doctor, as most problems can be successfully treated with medication.
