With all the refreshing, fruity, thirst quenching, sugary, calorie-laden drinks available, it is easy to forget that there’s such a thing as pure, clean water.

After air, water is the next vitally important thing your body needs to stay alive. Two-thirds of your body is made up of water and not drinking enough of it can cause headaches, fatigue, dizziness, and muscle weakness. You cannot survive beyond a week without water. No wonder, health experts are always urging us to stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water. The next time you feel like downing anything besides it, think about these things.

Water is essential to the body’s natural cleansing processes. It flushes out the toxins and waste products from the liver and the kidneys which are our main organs of detoxification. When you are well-hydrated, you are less likely to get constipated as the food can easily move through your digestive tract. Water is a necessary lubricant that makes elimination easier and helps one to have regular bowel movements.

While exercise is a must for fast fat loss, it is not the only thing you should be doing, if you are serious about getting rid of fat, that is. In fact, no single method can help you with weight loss. Thus, if you only diet or only exercise in the hope of quick weight loss, you would never be able to achieve your goal. On the other hand, if you combine both, then it would be easier for you to reach your destination. In this article I will tell you about the three things you need to do, including diet, for fast weight loss. 1. Dieting: Lots of people confuse dieting with “starving” or “crash dieting”. To be honest, “starving” or “crash dieting” are examples of unhealthy dieting methods, and if you wish to lose weight, you must follow only healthy dieting methods. This means that instead of starving, you must EAT. However, you must eat only natural veggies, fruits, etc., instead of fast foods, colas, soft drinks, processed fruit juices, soda, etc. A healthy diet is one which pumps all types of nutrients in your body. Any healthy diet should contain protein, fats, carbohydrates, vitamins and other nutrients. And don’t think that all fats and carbohydrates are bad either. Only the fats and carbs you get from junk foods are bad for your health. On the other hand, if you consume carbohydrates in the form of raw fruits, whole grains, etc., or if you have fats in the form of fishes, nuts, etc., they would not only help you lose weight but also provide your body with the necessary nutrients. Protein is one nutrient which you must not forget to consume. Protein is not only the building block for your body but also a good fat burner. Protein builds lean muscle mass for you, and since lean muscles help you burn fat, the more lean muscles you have the faster you would lose weight. Small but frequent eating would provide your body with the right amount of calories at the right time. This way, it won’t have surplus calories to deposit in the form of fat and you won’t gain weight either. Eating at the right time is equally important. Don’t make the mistake of eating just before bedtime or at late nights. If you eat before bedtime, your body won’t get a chance to burn that food since you would be sleeping very soon; consequently, it would deposit that food as fat, and make you fatter. 2. Get rid of stress: Believe it or not, the fact remains that stress is one of the major reasons behind modern obesity. You see, when you are stressed out, your body produces excessive cortisol. This in turn makes you hungry at wrong times. You eat and eat lots of foods (which more often that not happens to be junk foods) at wrong times and gain weight. A good way to get rid of stress is by working out daily, even if just for 5-10 minutes. Another way to get rid of stress is by getting a good night’s sleep. 3. Have better sleep: Sleep not only recovers your body from the day’s stress but also makes you more energized for the next day. If you sleep better, you would be able to workout longer. An additional advantage of sleeping well is that your blood sugar and insulin levels remain normal, and consequently, your appetite (and by relation your body weight) remains normal too. Many people follow weird sleeping patterns; no wonder that they become obese over time. Keep in mind that an adult needs to sleep for a minimum of 7-8 hours per day; anything less than that would only ruin your health.
